There is no single drivers' hours rule for every courier movement. Identify vehicle, maximum permitted weight, journey and activity before deciding which regime applies.
Identify the correct rules
GOV.UK states that rules depend on vehicle weight, country and use. Vehicles or combinations over 3.5 tonnes commonly fall under assimilated rules unless exempt. Many business vans under 3.5 tonnes fall under GB domestic rules. Trailers can change the combination weight.

Control schedules and records
